75th anniversary of the death of Miguel Hernández
It was a March 28, 1942 when the poet's voice went out forever.
His feather full of claw, his despair and surrender, made him a gentleman of letters even though he said of himself that he was a "goatherd poet" or a "shepherd poet."
It is said, although it is not known, that when Miguel Hernandez died that spring day, because of a tuberculosis in jail, nobody could close his eyes.
His eyes, so full of expression and almost broken of pain that we have seen in many of his portraits. His eyes did not want to stop seeing that light, the light of which he spoke so many times in his poems: "... But there is a ray of sun in the fight / that always leaves the shadow vanquished."
He was a lucky man, because he studied much more than the children of his condition and age. In the school of Jesuits of Santo Domingo it reached the degrees of "prince", "edil" and "emperor", titles with which the Jesuits distinguish the good students.
He was a great reader and that likeness also grew as he made his friendship with Ramón Sije, who later would dedicate the famous elegy to him on the occasion of his death.
He began to travel to Madrid where he met the poets of the Generation of 27, although not all created sympathies. His not-so-good relationship with Garcia Lorca or Rafael Alberti is known, who is said to have gravely insulted him by receiving a big slap from his partner, Maria Teresa Leon.
Man of strong political ideas in the middle of the Civil War, he married Josefina Manresa, who was the great love of his life and with whom he had two children. The first died prematurely, and the second, to whom he dedicated his famous verses Nanas de la onion, after his wife wrote him telling him the hardships she and her son were living, eating only bread and onions.
The stamp that commemorates the anniversary of his death, shows the writer reciting one of his poems. In the background his look and also, his signature and the drawing of a heart that appears in one of the letters to his wife.
