Endangered Species - Asian Elephant Miniature Sheet

The elephant is Earth's largest land animal, although the Asian elephant is slightly smaller than its African cousin.

Their smaller, rounded ears can identify Asian elephants. Elephants ears are large as they are used to radiate heat, helping to keep these huge animals cool. But in the baking heat of India and Sri Lanka that isn't always enough; and elephants that are generally fond of water enjoy bathing and showering by sucking water into their trunks and spraying it all over themselves.

The elephants dexterous trunk is an amazing tool; essentially it's a long nose with many functions. The trunk has over 100,000 different muscles and along with showering is used for smelling, breathing, trumpeting, drinking, and also for grabbing things. Asian elephants have a finger like feature on the end of their trunk that they can use to pick up small items.
